STARTER TEMPLATE — REVIEW WITH COUNSEL BEFORE LAUNCH
This document is boilerplate written to be edited, not legal advice. Every {{PLACEHOLDER}} below must be replaced with the real detail (entity, jurisdiction, postal address, copyright agent, date) and the whole thing read by a lawyer for the jurisdiction you are actually operating in before the site is launched or made public.
Version 1.0-starter-2026-09-29 · last updated {{LAST_UPDATED}} · abuse and takedown contact abuse@18plus.vg
1. Our approach
- We respond to properly-formed notices of copyright infringement under the DMCA (17 U.S.C. § 512) and equivalent notices under other laws, including Australian copyright law.
- Notices go to abuse@18plus.vg, or by post to {{POSTAL_ADDRESS}}, marked for {{DMCA_AGENT}}.
- Nothing is removed automatically on receipt of a notice. A person reads it, checks it, and decides.
- Accounts that repeatedly infringe are terminated. We keep a strike record.
2. What a copyright notice must contain
Incomplete notices may be returned with a request for the missing detail rather than actioned. If you are not sure whether you hold the rights, get advice before sending one.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed (one work, or a list, per notice).
- The exact URL(s) on this service where the infringing material sits — for example a link to the album or item page. We cannot find content from a screenshot or a description.
- Your name, address, telephone number and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury under the law of {{JURISDICTION}}, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
3. What happens next
- We review the notice and may remove or unpublish the material, or disable the link.
- Where the law requires it, we notify the account holder who uploaded it, and may pass your notice (including your contact details) to them so they can respond.
- We record the notice against the account. Repeat notices lead to termination.
- If the notice is plainly abusive, out of scope, or aimed at content you do not own, we may decline it and tell you why.
4. Counter-notice
If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to abuse@18plus.vg containing your signature, identification of the removed material and where it was, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification, and your name, address and phone number with consent to the jurisdiction of the courts of {{JURISDICTION}}.
On a valid counter-notice we may restore the material unless the original complainant tells us they have filed a court action, typically after 10 to 14 business days.
5. Liability for a bad notice
Knowingly making a material misrepresentation in a notice or counter-notice can make you liable for damages, including costs and legal fees, under the DMCA and equivalent laws. Do not use this process to remove criticism, competition, or content you simply dislike — those are not copyright claims.
6. Non-copyright abuse: report it here too
Reports of that kind do not need to satisfy the copyright formalities above. Include the URL, describe the problem, and we will act. As with copyright, a human reviews every report first — nothing comes down purely because a report arrived.
Questions about any of this, or a takedown: abuse@18plus.vg.
- Child sexual abuse material or any sexualisation of a minor: report it and we escalate to the police and to NCMEC or the equivalent body immediately, and preserve the evidence.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery, hidden-camera material, or content shared without the consent of the person shown: send it to abuse@18plus.vg with the URL and, if you are the person shown, a statement that you did not consent.
- Doxxing, threats, harassment, impersonation or other illegal content: same address, same process.
